New Bladenboro Police Officer
By: Erin Smith
The Bladenboro Town Board voted to hire a new police officer on Monday night.
The board held a closed session for about an hour to discuss the matter before reconvening in open session and voting to hire Officer William Hundley. His first day on the job will be January 19, said Chief Chris Hunt.

Hunt said Hundley had served as an auxiliary officer with the department prior to his being hired as a patrol officer.
Hundley comes to Bladenboro with 10 years experience in public safety including experience as a firefighter/EMT with the Martinsville, Virginia Fire Service and other locations.
“My mother is from Bryan’s Mill Pond,” said Hundley when asked what attracted him to Bladenboro.
Currently, Hundley is working part-time with a private ambulance service in Robeson County.
