Boost the Boro, Inc. served as host of another Grand Opening ceremony on Saturday, April 22, of yet another new business to open in downtown — Grace and Company of Bladenboro. The ladies boutique is located at 109 S. Main Street, Bladenboro, NC.

According to Don White, President of Boost the Boro, Inc., owners Rona and Rob West have wanted to do this for some time now and Rona feels she is so fortunate to see her dream become a reality. “After working in a total opposite type of work atmosphere for the past 12 years, I decided that 2017 was going to be the year I did something new and something that I was passionate about, and that was fashion!  I have always loved reading fashion magazines, fashion blogs and or course, shopping for fashions. Rob and I talked about it and decided that I would open a boutique and tanning salon, with the focus being on the boutique. I knew I wanted to be back in my hometown after working in Robeson County for so many years.  Bladenboro is where my heart is…I appreciate my customers and clients and feel like they are family.  The old saying, choose a job you love, and you’ll never have to work a day in your life.  That’s where I am in life right now, I love my job.”

According to one of Rona’s closest friends, Tammie Hester, “Grace and Company is a passionate dream of Rona’s.  She is truly doing what she loves while keeping it local. It is a unique boutique in a small town offering trendy fashions and tanning at reasonable prices. The customer service is impeccable and the smiles are always plentiful.”

White echoes this, adding “This is a really nice operation and the atmosphere is very friendly. I am really happy to see new businesses once again began to occupy the empty stores in Bladenboro and our organization is committed to do whatever we can to help these businesses survive and thrive in our town, as are our Town officials. We are actively recruiting small businesses to come to Bladenboro and open shop and there are a couple of suitable stores that are currently ready for occupancy”

“We realize this is a slow process,” said White. “And, I know it will take some time, but we feel we have some positive features to offer a prospective small business, such as the amount of North-South traffic that actually travels through our downtown each day, but more importantly, if we don’t make this effort, then who?”
