In an action that ensured the seamless continuation of purchases without having to wait until the next meeting almost a month away, the Town of Bladenboro met for a quick fifteen-minute session at its new 6pm time slot to approve two items for the Police Department.

Following up on Mayor Rufus Duckworth’s announcement at the conclusion of the August 10th meeting that called this meeting, the Commission first approved a Purchase Order to buy five laptop computers for Police patrol vehicles. This acquisition is being funded by a $34,000 public safety grant from the State.

Continuing in a buying mood, the Board then approved the purchase of a new patrol car for the Department. A $33,343 loan from First Bank, to include both principal and interest, will be paid in three annual installments of $11,114.33.

The meeting adjourned at 6:15pm
