Spread the love

The Bladenboro Police Department received a donation from an unexpected family for their annual Christmas for Kids drive this week.

The kick off for the annual giveaway was announced back in November. The police department has been asking for  donations for this worthy and fulfilling cause every year.

A mother and her three daughters walked in with smiles on their faces and a donation of $112.83. The daughters ranging in ages from

3 years old to 10 years old made sacrifices throughout the year. The girls would see toys they wanted to buy, but instead saved the money to put towards their donation according to Chief Hunt.

Hunt said, “It is great to see the love and compassion the children have for others. This shows the quality of character our youth have here in Bladenboro.”

The Bladenboro Police Department will be taking 15 children shopping for the holidays on December 15th. Donations are still being collected at the Police Department.

Hunt said, “I want to thank this family and everyone donating money for our department to be able to make Christmas brighter for some the less fortunate children in our community. It really warms my heart.”

All donations can be given to Chief Hunt, given at Bladenboro Town Hall, or you may mail donations to Bladenboro Police Department, P.O. Box 455, Bladenboro, NC 28320. Everyone who gives will receive a receipt for their donation.
