The Bladenboro Police Department’s annual Christmas for Kids outreach is planned for Dec. 9, and Chief Chris Hunt is seeking donations to help needy children at Bladenboro Primary School have gifts for Christmas.

“We’re asking everyone who plans to donate to do so before Dec. 9,” Hunt said. “It’s a really neat thing. If people can find it in their heart to help support this because it takes money to be able to do this.”

Children will be taken to Walmart in Elizabethtown on Dec. 9. Police department members, school staff and volunteers will help the children pick out a winter coat and clothing, then shop for toys. After shopping, the group will be served pizza at Pizza Palace restaurant in Bladenboro.

Donations are being accepted at the Bladenboro Police Department, or you can call Hunt at (910) 874-2422 to arrange for him to pick up your donation.
