State Superintendent June Atkinson requested that every elementary school student in the state begin summer vacation with books to read. The “Give Five – Read Five” campaign challenges parents, business leaders, and community members to donate new or gently-used books to their local elementary school.
Students, parents, businesses, and other community members made monetary donations as well as donating used and new books for students, kindergarten through fourth grade. Each student from Bladenboro Primary School had the opportunity to choose books to take home.
