Due to the heavy rain falls, Bladenboro Public Utilities Department experienced an overflow of diluted wastewater, on September 29th , 2016.

An over flow of 5,620 gallons at the sanitary sewer manhole, was reported at West Seaboard Street, from 3:20pm-12:45am, occurred and drained into the Bryant Swamp Drainage System according to the town’s press release.

The town also reported continued monitoring of the situation and lime was used during clean up.

The Division of Water Quality was notified within 24 hours of the event and the event is under review according to the town’s press release issued on Friday, September 30th.
