Bladenboro lifted the boil water advisory early Friday afternoon, according to Town Administer Blake Proctor. The advisory had been issued late Tuesday afternoon after Bladenboro Water System customers experienced periods of low pressure and outages in the distribution system due to a major water break.

The town received test results Friday that showed the water was safe for human consumption. Proctor lifted the advisory at 12:20 p.m. Friday.

During the three-day advisory, the town had recommended customers boil tap water before using it for drinking, making ice, bushing teeth, washing dishes or in food preparation. The town had recommended using bottled water if available.

Following Friday’s test results, it was determined tap water was safe to use without boiling it.
