The Gift of Numbers, 3rd grade math series, was presented to Bladenboro Primary Teachers and their students by the Bladenboro Rotary Club. The math books were purchased for all 3rd grade teachers in the county by the club in hopes of making learning math more effective through the use of fantasy literature to teach math principles and the scientific method, The math series reinforces principles taught in the Standard Course of Study and encourages students to apply the Standards of Mathematical Practice. The Gift of Numbers series will be distributed by the Curriculum Department to the other elementary schools. 
The authors of the seven-book math series for 2nd and 3rd grade students are local to our area. Rachel Frink Rogers, a native of Bladenboro, is a retired elementary teacher in Winston Salem with over 40 years experience teaching first through third grades. Joe Lineberry grew up in Lumberton and was a business consultant. The 2nd grade math books were donated to all 2nd grade teachers by the authors during the 2021-2022 academic year.
The Bladenboro Rotary Club meets the first and third Monday of each month.
