The town of Bladenboro is set to hold their annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony on Friday (November 30) evening at 6 p.m. at the Bladenboro Farmers Market.

New Light Church will be serving cookies and the Bladenboro Rotary Club will be supplying hot chocolate to chase away the cold. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be in attendance to hear the wishes of each girl and boy who attend.

There will be performances from the Galeed Church Choir, Oral Cheshire, Nick Peavy, Julia Deavers, and Savannah McPherson. The crowd will also be asked to join in singing carols around the tree.

Then, on Saturday morning, the Christmas celebration continues with the Bladenboro Christmas Parade at 10:30 a.m. The parade will begin at the Fresh Foods parking lot and end at the Bladenboro Historical Society Building. There will be plenty of festive floats, dancers, beauty queens, horses, ambulances and fire trucks for everyone.

Don’t forget the Lu Mil Vineyard Christmas Light Festival this weekend. The lights can be viewed tonight through Sunday from 6 until 10 p.m. And they can be viewed next weekend, December 6 through December 9th from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. and starting December 13th the Christmas Festival of lights can viewed nightly through December 23rd, from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. The cost for the light tour is $6 per person. A country buffet will be served from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. Cost is $11 plus tax, per person. Lu Mil Vineyard is located at 438 Suggs-Taylor Road, Elizabethtown.
