The Bladenboro Town Commissioners met on Monday and recognized Police Officer Brooks Yandle for his efforts in saving a man’s life recently.

Officer Yandle was presented an award from the town for his efforts in saving the life of an unconscious 31-year-old man. Yandle responded to a call near the Pawn South Store on Friday, Nov. 27, regarding an unconcsious man.

Yandle gave the man cpr for abut 20 minutes until EMS arrived. Yandle is credited with saving the man’s life.

In other business, the board approved the audit as it was presented by Bryon Scott of Thompson, Price, Scott, Adams and Company.

The board also approved sewer use/pretreatment costs, approved the removal and pruning trees located on both East and West Railroad streets, a lease for spray field, and approved the hiring of an ORC for the town’s spray irrigation permit.

Newly elected members of the town board Cris Harrelson, incumbent Sarah Jane Benson, incumbent Patsi Callihan, and Gene Norton were administered their oaths of office by Bladen County Clerk of Superior Court Niki Dennis.
