Bladenboro Historical BuildingGiving blood can help save lives. Giving blood is a simple thing to do, but it can make a big difference in the lives of others according to the Red Cross.

Many local communities hold blood drives throughout the year. One was held this week in Bladenboro.

“On Monday afternoon, July 11th the Red Cross Blood Drive in the Bladenboro Historical Society Building in Bladenboro was a success,” Henry Singletary said.

“In fact, some who came to donate without and appointment had to be turned away,” Singletary continued.

The building has been in service to the community for 100 years according to Joyce Walters, who was also in attendance at the blood drive.

There will be a centennial celebration on September 9th for the Bladenboro Historical Building according to Walters.
