Bluegrass group heading to Carolina Civic Center

The strains of Bluegrass music are coming to the Carolina Civic Center in Lumberton at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016, courtesy of the group Balsam Range.  Tickets cost $23 or $17 each with an advanced purchase of 10 or more tickets. Perfect for churches, large groups and friends.  Student tickets are $10 each.

Tickets can be purchased online by going to www.carolinaciviccenter.com or by calling 910-738-4339. Tickets can also be purchased in person by going to the Carolina Civic Center’s administrative office located on the Theater’s second floor between the hours of 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Please note the theater will have limited staffing Dec. 21 through Jan. 4, but tickets may be purchased online at any time.

Also, the box office opens for ticket sales one hour prior to performance.

Balsam Range was named the 2014 and 2015 International Bluegrass Music Association Vocal Group of the Year.

The group takes their name from the mountain range that surrounds their home county of Haywood in North Carolina.

Balsam Range’s sound includes elements of swing, jazz, country and gospel. The band’s fifth album, Five, debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard Chart and remained on the Billboard charts for six weeks. Also, the group is always at the top of airplay lists with their history of top singles.

The Carolina Civic Center is located at 315 North Chestnut Street, Lumberton.
