“Wooden golf tees are not just for golf,” says Bo. Enlarged screw holes may be repaired quickly by using a wooden golf tee.  Fill the enlarged hole with the wooden tee, and then saw the tee so that it will be flush with the wood’s surface.  All that is left to finish the repair is to sand and finish your project.
Ironing boards can take up a lot of room. Store your iron upright by mounting a towel rack to the wall. The top of the board will fit right under the towel rack to keep the board secure.  You may also use this idea to keep your brooms, mops, and even lumber from falling out of place.
“Building a new home, don’t forget you will want to hang pictures once you move in.” Bo said.  Nail 2 x 4 blocking between studs when framing walls. The boards provide sturdy mounting bases for heavy pictures or recessed medicine cabinets. Don’t forget; record the positions when doing installation.
Paint tends to run all down the side of the can when you paint. Here is an idea, punch holes in a paint-can rim with a finish nail. This helps paint along the rim drain into the can.
Bo reminds folks, “A shovel handle replaced correctly is considered a rural skill that shows basic mechanical competence.” The grain direction has to be correct, it’s important because the strength of a replacement handle depends on the grain direction. Mount the new handle so that the oval rings of wood grain run up and down the sides of the handle relative to the blade. Handles break when the tool is strained along those ovals. When you look down the blade toward the face of the handle, it should reveal only straight, parallel lines of wood grain.
