Bladen-County-Board-of-ElectionsThe Bladen County Board of election met in a Special Meeting on Thursday morning to discuss the implementation plan for One Stop Voting. The vote was 2-1 with Al Daniels casting the lone “no” vote. 

The plan calls for four One Stop polling locations that will operate from Oct. 20 through Nov. 5 but with different time schedules. All times are subject to approval by the State Board of Elections in Raleigh.

The proposed One Stop voting schedule at the Bladen County Public Library located at 111 S. Cypress Street in Elizabethtown is Thursday, Oct. 20, and Friday, Oct. 21, from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.; Monday, Oct. 24, through Friday, Oct. 28, from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 29, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. and Monday, Oct. 31 through Friday, Nov. 4, from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.; and Saturday, Nov. 5, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Other proposed One Stop sites for Bladen County are the Dublin Lions Club Building in Dublin, East Arcadia Town Hall, and the Bladenboro Historical Society Building. These locations will operate on the following schedule: Thursday, Oct. 20, and Friday, Oct. 21, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m.; Monday, Oct. 24, through Friday, Oct. 28, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 29, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. and Monday, Oct. 31 through Friday, Nov. 4, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m.; and Saturday, Nov. 5, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.

The One Stop sites will not be open on Sundays, said Bladen County Board of Elections Director Cynthia Shaw.
