Spring Fest PicBLADENBORO – Boost the Boro, Inc. will host its 2016 Spring Fest event on Saturday, April 30at the Bladenboro Farmer’s Market in downtown Bladenboro.  “We are very excited about our annual event this year and have decided to combine the event this year with the Master Gardener’s annual plant sale.  Historically, both of these events usually draw a large crowd of people”, said Don White, President of Boost the Boro, Inc. We decided to put these two events together and bring in some live entertainment in the afternoon and give something back to our community.   If you like good food, good music and an opportunity to maybe find that perfect landscape plant you’ve been looking for, then this is the place to be”.

According to White, the day will look something like this “The day will begin bright and early at 8 a.m. until noon with the Master Gardener’s annual plant sale.  “As mentioned earlier, this event is always very popular in our community.  These dedicated local gardeners will have for sale a variety of homegrown and nurtured landscape and vegetable plants that are now ready to be transplanted into your garden.  And you will not find better prices anywhere, said White, but make sure come early”

Starting at noon our annual “Grilled BBQ chicken and all the Fixins” plate sale will start.  “This event is scheduled to go until 4:00 pm or as last year’s event, said White, until we run out.”  Boost the Boro members will be selling tickets for $7 each, but White suggests you come early. Plates will also be available for purchase on site plus we will have tables, chairs and tents set up for you to enjoy your meal or you can pick-up and take out.  Also, if you want to pick up some of the best desserts money can buy, try our bake sale of pies, cookies and cakes inside the Farmer’s market.

And if that’s not enough, also starting at 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. will be a popular local band Loose Floorboards.  This popular local band has been playing together for about 20 years and will be entertaining the crowds with a wide genre of classic rock, country, oldies and beach.

Boost the Boro, Inc is a local community organization, now in its 10th year.  We meet on the second Tuesday of each month at the Bladenboro Farmer’s Market and would welcome new members from the surrounding community.  We continue to grow every month now and would welcome anyone that has interest in our community and wants a way to become involved. Please see one of our members or send a message to Don White, Jr Facebook page if you need more information.
