Boost the ‘Boro, Inc is preparing for another successful year. March brought new board members, new officers and new businesses to help the Bladenboro non-profit group.

After the meeting in March, re-elected President of Boost the ‘Boro, Don White, announced the officers and board members who were elected to serve for the upcoming year. Pat Hasbrouck remained as Treasurer.  Rodney Hester is the newly elected Vice-President, and Joyce Walters remained as Secretary. Charles Ray Peterson, Tom Lancaster, and Claudette Guy were elected as board members, according to White.

One of the items the group agreed to continue to work on improving Bladenboro. White said, “We are continuing the wall project, but instead of a mural, the wall will have written on it, ‘Welcome to Bladenboro.'”

There are new businesses in town. Boost the ‘Boro members will announce the open houses when the business owners make the dates public, according to White.

The Spring Fest planning is well under way according to organizer, Penny Walters. The annual fest is scheduled for June 10th with the Glory Bound band entertaining. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. behind the Bladenboro farmers market.

After the Spring Fest in June, planning for the annual Beast Fest will begin, according White.
