The local non-profit, Boost the Boro, Inc., has remained cautiously optimistic with leadership and planning. The organization hopes to continue many of the community and group activities of the past.

The President of the non-profit, Terry Nance, organized some briefings this year to keep key group members communicating. Although the annual Spring Fling has been canceled, the 2021 Beast Fest is tentatively scheduled for the last weekend in October of this year.

A full membership meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at 7 p.m. The meeting’s exact location will be announced at a later date due to the planning of social distancing and COVID-19 Pandemic safety precautions.

In an email, Boost the Boro, Inc., Treasurer Don White stated, “We realize our membership needs to generate some new and younger leadership, so our goal for 2021 is to recruit eight (8) to ten (10) new members. Membership is open to everyone, and under normal conditions, the organization meets on the second Tuesday of each month.”

The 2021 annual membership dues are $25 and may be mailed to Boost the Boro, P.O. Box 711, Bladenboro, NC 28320. As a continued courtesy, non-voting student membership fees are waived. Bladen County students are encouraged to get involved.

Officers and committee chairs elections will be held at the April meeting for membership discussion. Anyone interested in serving the non-profit in a leadership role may contact the President, Terry Nance.
