DELCO –Lee Barnes fired in a game-high 23 points Monday night to lead Clarkton School of Discovery to a 54-31 Waccamaw Middle School Conference boys’ basketball victory over Acme-Delco.

Barnes lit up the scoreboard with 5 first quarter baskets. Rodney Lacewell, Blaine Pope and Keyon McKoy threw in a basket each as the Blue Devils grabbed a 16-9 lead.

Matt Kemp tossed in 3 baskets in the second period for the winners. Barnes flipped in a basket and a free throw, and Noah Hall popped in a basket as the Clarkton lead grew to 27-14 at halftime.

Lacewell powered in a pair of third quarter baskets, Barnes and Kemp pumped in baskets, and Dashon Campbell and Sherman Long netted free throws to pad the CSD lead to 37-23.

Barnes delivered 3 more baskets in the final quarter, and teammate Ja’Nathan Johnson drained 2 baskets and a free throw. Hall, Lacewell and Pope tacked on a basket each.

Lacewell and Kemp finished with 8 points each. Johnson followed with 5 points, and Pope and Hall totaled 4 points each. E. Jones scored 10 points for Trojans.

Coach Robert Mazur’s Blue Devils, now 5-1 in Waccamaw Division A play and 7-1 overall, will host Nakina Tuesday.
