FAIRMONT – Kobe Davis and Cedreke Smith scored 13 points each to lead Fairmont to a 75-60 Three Rivers Conference boys basketball victory over West Bladen Friday night.

Sharron Wilson’s 5 points sparked the Tornadoes to an early 16-9 lead. Senior Nijeah McKoy dropped in a pair of baskets for West Bladen. Junior Shy’Ron Adams tossed in a basket and a free throw, and junior Josh Lewis pumped in a basket.

Senior Tyre Boykin poured in 4 baskets and 7 free throws for the Knights in the second period. Teammates Adams and Xayvon Davis flipped in a basket each. Seven points from Cedreke Smith and 5 from Kobe Davis kept Fairmont ahead 39-28 at halftime.

Boykin lit up the scoreboard with 3 baskets and 4 free throws in the third quarter. McKoy and Adams added a basket each. Three baskets from Kobe Davis lifted Fairmont to a 56-42 lead at the third quarter break.

Junior Jadacus Register and senior Tra’shawn Ballard buried 3-point shots for West in the final period. Boykin threw in a basket and 2 free throws. Adams, freshman Gary Parker and junior Donovan Stone popped in baskets, and Register and freshman Deonte Lacy hit free throws.

Boykin racked up 29 points to lead all scorers. Adams followed with 9 points, and McKoy totaled 6 points.

The Knights, now 1-7 in the TRC and 4-10 overall, will host Red Springs Tuesday night.
