DUNN – Midway rode a 22-7 third quarter surge to a 66-49 Four County Conference boys basketball victory over East Bladen Friday night.

The Raiders led 30-28 at halftime, but Greg Orr drained a pair of 3-point shots and scored 9 points in the period, and Colby Pope tacked on a trio of baskets as the Midway lead grew to 52-35.

Sophmore Adonis Avery dropped in a pair of baskets, and senior Demetrius Wooten threw in a basket and a free throw for the only Eagle points in the quarter.

Aaron Laforte worked inside for a pair of fourth quarter baskets, and senior Eian Hines popped in a basket and 2 free throws. Sadique Ingram and Denzel Johnson bombed in 3-point shots for East Bladen in the quarter.

Jamar Autry fired in 10 of his 17 points for Midway in the final period. Orr finished with 14 points, and Pope added 12.

Eian Hines topped the East Bladen scoring with 14 points, and Johnson and Demetrius Wooten followed with 8 points each. Avery finished with 7 points, and Ingram totaled 6.

Hines connected for a trio of first period baskets, and Johnson, Demetrius Wooten and Avery delivered a 3-point basket each to keep East Bladen within 18-17 at the quarter break.

Hines pumped in a pair of baskets in the second quarter, and Ingram nailed a 3-point shot. Johnson and Demetrius Wooten collected a basket each in the period as the Eagles stayed within 30-28.

The Eagles will travel to league-leading Clinton Wednesday night.
