ELIZABETHTOWN – Red Springs rode a 33-14 surge to a 46-32 Three Rivers Conference boys basketball victory over East Bladen Tuesday night.

Senior Greyson Heustess and junior Tyshawn Berkeley drained 3-point shots in the opening quarter for East Bladen. Heustess added another basket, and sophmore center Javant McDowell dropped in 2 baskets as the Eagles built a 12-8 lead.

Kameron McLean, Shyheim Richardson, and Jayshawn Carthen threw in 4 points each in the second quarter to key a 15-4 Red Devil rally that produced a 23-16 halftime lead.

Jaylen Mack drilled in a pair of 3-point shots and another basket in the third quarter. McLean, Richardson and Keagan Brayboy added 4 points each as the Red Devil lead grew to 41-26.

McDowell pumped in 3 baskets in the quarter for East Bladen. The 6-6 center topped the Eagle scoring with 11 points. Berkeley fired in a pair of 3-point shots and finished with 10 points. Heustess totaled 5 points.

Richardson and McLean led the Red Devil scoring with 10 points each, and Mack followed with 9 points.

The Eagles, now 1-2 in league play, will travel to West Columbus Friday night.
