RED SPRINGS – Guard Traveze Billinger fired in 10 of his 17 points during a late rally that lifted Red Springs to a 65-62 Three Rivers Conference boys basketball victory over West Bladen Friday night.

The Knights led at every quarter break and carried a 51-46 lead into the final period, before Billinger blistered the nets with 5 baskets, and senior Jaylon Mack pumped in 2 baskets and a 3-point shot during a 19-11 closing surge.

Senior Keshawn Lewis tossed in 2 baskets and a free throw for the Knights in the final period, and junior Tyre Boykin sank 3 free throws. A 10-3 run that began the period put Red Springs on top 56-54 with 5:25 left.

Keagan Brayboy finished with 13 points for the Red Devils, and senior Jaylon Mack followed with 12 points.

Boykin topped the West Bladen scoring with 17 points. Senior Jaheim Lesane finished with 10 points, and senior Keshawn Lewis and juniors Nijeah McKoy and Nolan Bryant scored 9 points each.

Long range bombing sparked the Knights to an early 20-13 lead. Lesane, Lewis, Bryant and senior Eddie Perez-Ortiz drilled in 3-point baskets during the spurt. Lesane and McKoy also dropped in baskets.

Brayboy beat the buzzer with a 3-point shot that closed the gap to 20-16 at the quarter break. Billinger netted 2 baskets and 2 free throws in the first quarter.

Boykin filled up the rims with 4 baskets in the second period. McKoy battled inside for 2 baskets, and Bryant and Lesane buried 3-point shots as the Knights stretched their lead to 38-30 at halftime.

Monk connected on a 3-point shot and 2 free throws, and Shyheim Richardson delivered 2 baskets for the Red Devils.

Boykin netted 2 baskets in the third period for the Knights, and Bryant nailed another 3-point shot. Lesane, freshman Shyron Adams and senior Jackson Norris pumped in a basket each to keep West ahead 51-46 at the quarter break.

Brayboy rallied the Red Devils with 4 third quarter baskets, and Keyante Graham added 2 baskets in the period.

The Knights will host East Columbus Friday night.
