RED SPRINGS – Seniors Jordan Ferguson and Corell Love sparked a 42-21 second-half surge that carried Red Springs to a 70-43 Three Rivers Conference boys basketball victory over West Bladen on Friday night

Ferguson and Love shared Red Devil scoring honors with 15 points each, and both of them scored 9 points in the second half. Senior Keyante Graham tallied 13 points.

Jordan Ferguson bombed in a pair of 3-point shots in the first quarter as the Red Devils edged in front 14-12. Junior Shy’Ron Adams fired in a 3-point shot and 2 other baskets in the opening period to keep the Knights close.

A trio of baskets by Love and a 3-point basket by Gary Locklear kept Red Springs on top 28-22 at halftime. Senior Tyre Boykin nailed a pair of 3-point shots in the second period for the Knights, and seniors Nijeah McKoy and Xayvon Davis dropped in baskets.

Boykin poured in 6 baskets and 2 free throws in the second half and topped all scorers for the Knights with 21 points. Adams finished with 7 points.

The Knights, now 0-2 in the TRC and 2-2 overall, will host East Columbus on Tuesday night.
