DUBLIN- Red Springs defeated West Bladen 88-68 Friday night in Three Rivers Conference boys basketball action.

Seven different Red Devils scored as the visitors raced to a 21-10 first period lead. Senior Jimmy Williams drilled a 3-point shot, and freshman Shyron Adams dropped in a basket and a free throw to lead the Knights.

Guard Caleel Mitchell poured in 10 points to spark a 28-9 Red Devil surge that pushed the margin to 49-19 at halftime.

Junior Keshawn Lewis drained a 3-point shot and 2 free throws for the Knights in the quarter, and senior Jonathan Robinson and Williams netted 2 free throws each.

Sophmore Tyre Boykin burnt the nets with five baskets in the third quarter for West Bladen. Adams buried a 3-point shot, and Robinson powered in a basket and a free throw.

Jerome Bass pumped in 10 points in the period to keep the Red Devil lead at 65-40 at the quarter break.

Boykin popped in 2 baskets and 2 free throws in the final quarter and led the West Bladen scoring with 16 points. Williams threw in 2 baskets and 2 free throws in the period and finished with 13 points.

Senior Gerardo Reyes nailed a 3-point shot and hit 2 free throws to tally 5 of his 7 points in the fourth quarter. Adams bombed in a final period 3-point shot and totaled 9 points in the game.

Junior Drew Harris dropped in a basket and 2 free throws in the fourth quarter to finish with 6 points. Robinson also scored 6 points, and Lewis totaled 7 points.

Mitchell and Monte Wilkerson led the Red Springs scoring with 16 points each. Bass followed with 13 points, and Jaylen Mack added 10.

West Bladen will host rival East Bladen Tuesday night.
