ST.PAULS – St. Pauls built a 28-11 halftime lead en route to a 55-38 Three Rivers Conference boys basketball victory over West Bladen Tuesday night.

Caleb Henderson and Marqueise Coleman threw in a basket and a free throw each to spark the Bulldogs to an early 14-6 lead. Junior Shy’Ron Adams nailed a 3-point shot, and senior Tyre Boykin pumped in a basket and a free throw for the Knights.

Two baskets each from Waltay Jackson and Jeyvian Tatum led St. Pauls in the second quarter. Boykin drained a 3-point shot and another basket for West in the period.

Boykin fired in a pair of 3-point shots, 2 other baskets and 3 free throws to key a Knight 20-15 rally that trimmed the Bulldog lead to 43-31 at the third quarter break. Senior Nolan Bryant buried a 3-point shot, and senior Nijeah McKoy added another basket for the Knights.

Jackson banged in 2 more baskets and a free throw for the Bulldogs in the final period. Boykin cashed in 2 free throws and another basket for the Knights in the quarter, and Bryant tossed in a basket.

Boykin racked up 25 points to lead the Knight scoring. Bryant and Adams followed with 5 points each. Tatum led St. Pauls with 13 points, and Jackson finished with 9 points.

The Knights, now 1-5 in league play and 4-8 overall, will host South Columbus Friday night.
