ST PAULS – St. Pauls raced to a 32-9 first quarter lead en route to an 88-69 Three Rivers Conference boys basketball victory over West Bladen Friday night.

Senior Isaiah Davis keyed the first quarter surge with a 3-point shot, another basket and six free throws. Teammate Anthony Campbell, Jr. threw in 5 points in the period.

Junior Trashawn Ballard bombed in a 3-point basket, juniors Tyre Boykin and Nolan Bryant dropped in baskets and senior Jackson Norris cashed in 2 free throws for the Knights in the first period.

Boykin lit up the scoreboard with a pair of 3-point bombs, another basket and 2 free throws in the second quarter. Senior Jaheim Lesane popped in a basket and 3 free throws.

Eddie Perez-Ortiz buried a 3-point shot, Norris worked inside for a basket, and senior Kerron Washington hit a free throw to keep the Knights within 50-31 at halftime. Junior Caleb Henderson filled up the rims with 4 baskets in the period for St. Pauls.

Boykin knocked down a 3-point shot, a pair of 2-point baskets and 2 free throws in the third period. Lesane nailed a 3-point shot and another basket, senior Keshawn Lewis pumped in 2 baskets, and Nijeah McKoy muscled in a basket to keep the Knights within 66-51.

Junior Emonta Smith sparked the Bulldogs second half attack with 6 points, and Henderson netted 5. Campbell added a pair of final quarter baskets.

Boykin flipped in a trio of final period baskets for the Knights. Senior Cameron Taylor connected for a pair of baskets, and Lewis, Ballard, senior Drew Harris and McKoy tacked on a basket each.

Boykin topped all scorers with 27 points. Lesane finished with 10 points for the Knights, and Lewis followed with 7 points.

Davis led St. Pauls with 15 points. Henderson followed with 14 points, and Smith finished with 11 points.

West Bladen will travel to Fairmont Monday night at 6:30 to complete a game that was suspended by an air conditioner leak in December.
