TABOR CITY – Senior Jimmy Williams fired in 16 points to lead West Bladen to a 56-52 Three Rivers Conference boys basketball victory over South Columbus Tuesday night.

Freshman Shyron Adams sparked the Knights to an early 19-10 lead with a 3-point shot and another basket. Sophmore Tyre Boykin threw in a basket and 2 free throws, and Williams, junior Keshawn Lewis, sophmore Trashawn Ballard and senior Gerardo Reyes added a basket each.

A 15-8 Stallion rally sliced the Knight lead to 27-25 at halftime. Senior Jonathan Robinson sank 5 of 6 free throws, and Williams pumped in a basket and a free throw kept the Knights on top.

Williams drained a 3-point shot and a free throw in the third quarter, and Reyes bombed in a 3-point shot. Lewis and Robinson dropped in a basket each to keep West Bladen up 38-33 at the quarter break.

Williams buried two more 3-point shots and a free throw in the final quarter for West Bladen. Reyes nailed another 3-point shot and a trio of free throws in the period, Robinson powered in a basket and junior Drew Harris, Boykin and Adams hit free throws.

Reyes and Robinson finished with 11 points each for the winners. Adams followed with 6 points, and Boykin tallied 5 points.

Zack McCoy topped the Stallion scoring with 14 points, and teammate Tyquawn Johnson followed with 10 points.

It was the second straight win for Coach Travis Pait’s Knights who will host Fairmont Wednesday night.
