West Bladen’s Knights rolled to leads of 13-4 and 31-17 en route to a 64-42 Four County Conference boys basketball victory over visiting Union Thursday night.
 
Nine of the ten Knights who played in the game scored and the Knights bombed in eight 3-point baskets in the game.
 
Sophmore John Bowen and freshman Keshawn Lewis drilled 3-point shots in the opening quarter as West Bladen grabbed the 13-4 lead.
 
Union fought back in the second quarter, but a barrage of 3-point baskets opened up the 14-point halftime lead. Lewis, junior Sayaun Dent, sophmore Shaquille Johnson and senior Will Lambeth all drained 3-balls for West in the period.
 
Senior guard Stefan McDonald tossed in 8 of his game-high 11 points in the third quarter as the Knight lead grew to 49-31. McDonald threw in a 3-point shot in the period.
 
Lewis nailed his third 3-point shot of the game in the fourth quarter as the Knights held on for the win.
 
Dent and Lewis finished with 10 points each for West Bladen. Johnson followed with 9 points, and Bowen and Lambeth chipped in with 7 points each. Samuel Crumpler led Union with 10 points.
 
“We played really good in the second half,” said Knight Coach Travis Pait. “We were patient at times, we picked it up when we needed too. It was a good game for us.”
 
“Keshawn had a double-figure game that was good for him,” continued Coach Pait. “Jimmy Williams played well. Kalvin (Page) came in and played well – you can go right down the list.”
 
The Knights improved to 5-2 in the league and 14-3 overall. West Bladen will host Wallace-Rose HillTuesday night.
