ELIZABETHTOWN – East Bladen’s Eagles poured in four second-half goals Wednesday night en route to a 5-1 victory over St. Pauls in their Three Rivers Conference boys soccer opener.

Junior Garrett Melvin sparked the Eagle attack with 2 goals and 14 steals. Senior Gabe Barber knocked in a goal, dished out 2 assists and totaled 17 steals. Senior Jake Evans banged in a goal and was credited with an assist and a team-high 18 steals.

Senior Jon Von Rupp booted in the other East Bladen goal. Senior Milton Estrada finished with 17 steals, and junior Jay McKoy totaled 15 steals. Senior Angel Martinez collected 14 steals.

Junior Will Hester and Malcom Bolden contributed 13 steals each to the Eagle defensive effort. Junior Drew Sholar and Freddy Wooten added 12 steals each.

Coach Jay Raynor’s Eagles improved to 2-3-1 overall and will host South Columbus on Monday.
