SoccerJuan Medellin scored with 18 minutes remaining as Midway edged West Bladen 3-2 on Wednesday in a Four County 1A/2A Conference soccer match played in the rain.

West Bladen took the early lead on a goal from Jorcahel Monroe only four minutes into the game, but Midway countered with a pair of goals before half. The first game with 19 minutes remaining by Jonathan Espino, and the second came four minutes later by Medellin.

West Bladen tied it at 2-2 on a goal by Luis Labra with 35 minutes to play. The score remained tied until Medellin’s goal just past the halfway mark of the second half. The Knights were unable to get the tying goal.

Midway is 3-3 in Four County games and 6-4-2 overall. West Bladen is 1-5 in league games and 4-8-2 overall. The Knights are scheduled to play at East Bladen on Monday at 6 p.m.
