CERRO GORDO – Senior winger Wilmer Garcia fired in a ‘Hat Trick’ of 3 goals Monday night to lead West Bladen to a 4-2 Three Rivers Conference boys soccer victory over West Columbus.
Garcia scored a first half goal, and junior striker Keni Gomez knocked in a first half goal off of an assist from junior Alex Perez as the Knights built a 2-1 halftime lead.
Garcia padded the Knight lead with a pair of second-half goals. Garcia, Gomez, Perez and seniors Joey Ferretiz and Brandon Labra finished with one assist each.
Senior Jonathan Dominguez led the West Bladen defense with 5 steals. Ferretiz and senior Eric Sandoval added 4 steals each, and Labra collected 3 steals. Senior Leonardo Vazquez recorded 4 saves in goal for the winners.
Coach Phillip Turnage’s Knights remained unbeaten in league play with a 2-0 record and are 3-3 overall. West Bladen will host Red Springs on Wednesday.
