BLADENBORO – Whiteville outscored West Bladen 3-1 in penalty kicks Monday night in Three Rivers Conference boys soccer action. The score was tied 1-1 after regulation play.
Junior Andreas Gonzalez Monroy fired in the Knight goal during regulation play. Junior Keni Verdugo-Gomez blasted his penalty kick into the back of the net for the only West Bladen point during the shootout.
“The team fought hard and will be ready to play come Wednesday,” said Knight Coach Phillip Turnage.
The Knights, 3-3 in league play and 4-6-1 overall, will travel to East Bladen on Wednesday night.
