AUBURN, AL – Anders Carlson booted a 39-yard field goal with 7 seconds left that lifted Auburn to a 30-28 Southeastern Conference football victory over Arkansas on a rainy Saturday in Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Tar Heel native Brandon Council started at right guard for the Tigers and played the entire game on the offensive line. He also saw time at left guard and right tackle.

The Auburn offensive line cleared the way for a Tiger offense that piled up 259 yards rushing and 446 total yards. Highlights included an 80-yard scoring drive on 10 running plays in the first half that gave Auburn a 17-0 lead, and a 33-yard drive that set up the winning field goal.

“I think we (the offensive line) did a good job,” said Tiger Coach Gus Malzahn. “You look at the rushing yards — we talked all week about being balanced. We’ve got to be able to run the football, and I think the offensive line really did a good job tonight running the football.”

Auburn, now 2-1, will travel to Columbia, SC Saturday for a 12 noon kickoff against the Gamecocks.
