FAYETTEVILLE, Ark – Former West Bladen star Brandon Council and his Auburn Tigers rallied for a 38-23 Southeastern Conference football victory at Arkansas Saturday.

Council anchored an Auburn offensive line that paved the way for 427 total yards (292 passing). The Tigers outscored Arkansas 24-6 over the final 22 minutes.

Quarterback Bo Nix completed 21 of 26 passes for 292 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 42 yards and another TD. The Tigers put the game away with a 12-play, 75-yard that consumed 6 minutes and 11 seconds and pushed the lead to 38-23 with only 2:30 remaining.

Nix ran 23 yards for the clinching touchdown and said, “We wanted to run the ball, take up as much clock as possible and gain some yards on the ground and that’s exactly what we did. The O-line did a great job of getting a hat on a hat.”

The Tigers improved to 2-1 in the SEC and 5-2 overall. Auburn will have an open date next week before hosting Mississippi on October 30th.
