Britt and Robinson made brief comments.  Britt said “serving on the board was one of my greatest pleasures.”  He said the decisions of the board were never dictated by party, “we followed the law.”  He praised the staff and his fellow board members for their loyal service.  Mrs. Robinson spoke about her time on the board, serving with Britt and others.  “We done it the right way,” she said.
Both have served as chair of the committee several times.
Britt concluded his comments, “we put Bladen County citizens first and it has been an honor.”
Board members are appointed by the state board of elections following recommendations from the local political parties.  The party of the sitting governor will represent a majority of a three member board in each county.  Britt is a registered Republican and Robinson is a Democratic.  Ludlum is a registered Republican.
Britt and Robinson were presented plaques by Cynthia Shaw, Director of the local Board of Elections.  In making the presentations, she praised both for their work and support as members of the local committee.
