BOLIVIA, NC – Delbert Almanzo Kurtz was convicted of numerous rape and sexual offense charges earlier this afternoon, relating to the sexual abuse of a young female that occurred when she was around 10 – 11 years of age. A Brunswick County jury returned verdicts of guilty, following a multi-day trial which began on Monday, August 23rd, 2021.
Superior Court Judge R. Kent Harrell sentenced Kurtz to 27 to 38.5 years in prison. Sergeant Cory McLamb of the Shallotte Police Department conducted the investigation.
