The Burger King in Elizabethtown was evacuated on Wednesday night due to an issue with the restaurant’s HVAC system.  The company called their HVAC contractor and the restaurant will reopen as soon as the HVAC system is repaired.

The Elizabethtown Police Department, Elizabethtown Rescue, Elizabethtown, White Lake, Dublin and Clarkton Fire Departments along with Bladen County EMS all responded to the scene.

No one was injured in the incident and all employees were accounted for.

The Burger King in Elizabethtown has been evacuated due to a possible fire.  A Burger King employee reported that all employees are safe and accounted for.

Firefighters are on the scene at this hour as smoke has been reported inside and outside of the building. Firefighters are addressing concerns the smoke could be coming from the restaurant’s HVAC system.

Elizabethtown Fire Chief Nick West said, “We have to spend more time (at a fire like this). It’s called overhaul because it’s the hidden fires that can come back and bite you.”

The Elizabethtown Police Department is on the scene assisting the firefighters with directing traffic.  The Elizabethtown, White Lake, Dublin and Clarkton Fire Departments are all on the scene along with Bladen County EMS.
