GOLDSBORO – Elizabethtown’s Cade Hancock fired a final round 69 Tuesday to secure a 4th place individual finish and help his Mount Olive Trojans win their own tournament, The Trojan, at Walnut Creek Country Club.
Hancock carded rounds of 75 and 71 in the 1st two rounds and finished with a 215 total. Teammate Bruce Ballin captured medalist honors with a sizzling final round 65 for a 207 total, and Mount Olive’s Olle Ryberg placed second with a 209 total. Mount Olive’s Patrick Schweitz was 8th with a 218 total.
Mount Olive won the tournament by 47 strokes with an 848 team total. Catawba took 2nd place followed by Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Fayetteville State and Chowan.
The Trojans next tournament will be the Conference Carolinas Championship April 18-20 at Snow Hill.
