Harrells Christian Academy senior Cade Hancock was the first place medalist in a match against Cape Fear Academy and Fayetteville Academy on March 11th. Cade recently signed his National Letter of Intent to play and study golf at the University of Mount Olive.
GASTONIA – Elizabethtown’s Cade Hancock fired a 2-under-par 68 Friday in the second round of the 59th North Carolina Amateur Championship at Gaston Country Club.
Hancock’s 68 moved him into a tie for 34th place with a two-round total of 6-over-par 146 after shooting a 78 in Thursday’s opening round. He was one of 63 golfers to make the cut and qualify for Saturday and Sunday’s final two rounds.
Alex Goff of Kings Mountain carded Friday’s low round of 65 and leads the championship with a 4-under-par total of 136.
