Cade Hancock Ties For Second In First Collegiate Tournament

SNOW HILL – Elizabethtown’s Cade Hancock tied for second after losing in a four-way playoff Tuesday in the Cutter Creek Invitational at Cutter Creek Golf Club.

Hancock, a freshman who attended Harrells Christian Academy, finished the 36-hole tournament at 1-over 145 and tied with teammates Arthur Heinbach and Brice Ballin and Barton’s Bryson Boyette. Heinbach made birdie on the second playoff hole to win the individual title.

Hancock opened with a 70 Monday and shot 75 Tuesday. He is the son of Polly and Jim Hancock of Elizabethtown.

Barton won the team title with a 586 score. Mount Olive was third at 595.

Mount Olive’s next tournament is scheduled Sept. 16-17 in the Kiawah Island Invitational in Kiawah Island, South Carolina.
