Temperatures have dropped in Bladen County making this year’s 6th annual Polar Plunge at Camp Clearwater into White Lake very interesting. The event is something many residents and tourist look forward to each year at one of North Carolina’s most popular lakes.

The water temperature was 34 degrees with the air temperature being 23 with a wind chill. “There was ice on the piers,” according to Hope Campbell.

To help folks warm up from the dive into the icy waters, White Lake Fire Department has collards, black eyed peas and chicken and rice plates for sale to help everyone warm up.
