Zane Hamilton Singletary, from Bladenboro, has once again been elected by his peers to serve as Class President for Campbell University for the upcoming 2015/2016 year. Singletary currently serves as the Campbell University Freshman Class President, and will continue in that role until he takes his new office of Sophomore Class President in the fall of 2015. A total of three individuals ran for the office. Campbell University Student Government Association rules require that an individual receive in excess of 40% of the vote to avoid a run-off election. Singletary garnered 55% of the upcoming Sophomore Class vote.
When asked about being re-elected to serve as Class president, Singletary said, “ I believe that my classmates will agree that I do my best to speak up for their interests, and for what I believe is right. It has been a year of learning and adjustment for me, but also a wonderful year. I think my Freshman Classmates share that sentiment as evidenced by their recent vote of confidence by re-electing me as their Sophomore Class President. For that, I am very grateful. I look forward to representing the best interests of my Campbell classmates in the future.”
