Bladen-County-Board-of-Elections

The filing period for the 2016 election has begun and as of noon on Wednesday one more candidate has made his intentions known by filing for 2016 election.

Dem. Kenneth Register Jr. has filed seeking election to the County Commissioner District 3 seat. He will be challenging incumbent Dem. Wayne Edge.

The filing period ends at noon on Monday, Dec. 21.

Also filing were:

County Commissioner District 1 seat : Dem. Ophelia Munn-Goins has filed for election.

County Commissioner District 2 seat: incumbent Dem. Daniel Dowless has filed for re-election.

County Commissioner Countywide four candidates have filed seeking election in the democratic primary. They are Pam Benton, David Gooden and incumbents Michael Cogdell and James G. “Jimmie” Smith.

Board of Education District 1: Dem Glenn C. McKoy has filed for election.

Board of Education District 3: incumbent Dem. Bonnell Wallker has filed seeking re-election.

In state races, in the N.C. Senate District 8 which includes Bladen County, incumbent Republican Bill Rabon has filed seeking re-election.

In the N.C. House of Representatives race for District 22, incumbent Dem. William Brisson has filed seeking re-election to his seat.  In the N.C. House of Representatives District 46, which includes Bladen, Columbus and Robeson counties, incumbent Ken Waddell announced he will not seek re-election.  As of Wednesday morning, no one had filed seeking election to that seat.

In the district court judges race, there are four seats available in District 13 – Jerry Jolly, Marion Warren, Pauline Hankins and Scott Ussery.  Filing for the Warren seat is Jason C. Disbrow and filing for election to the Jolly seat is C. Ashley Gore.

In the U.S. Senate race, the seat currently held by incumbent Republican Richard Burr is available. Filing for the seat are Rep. Paul Wright and Dem. Ron Senyal.

In the U.S. House District 7 race, no one has filed for election as of Wednesday morning. The seat is currently held by incumbent Republican David Rouzer.
