The Cape Fear River is expected to reach minor flood stage this week, according to the National Weather Service office in Wilmington.

A flash flood watch that was issued for Bladen County on Friday has been allowed to expire.

A flood warning remains in effect for the Cape Fear River at the William O. Huske Lock and Dam No. 3 near Tar Heel. At 8 a.m. the river was reported at 40.59 feet and flood stage is 42 feet. The river is expected to crest at 49 feet on Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

A flood warning is also in effect for the Cape Fear River at Elizabethtown. The river is expected to crest at 28 feet on Tuesday.

The Cape Fear River at the William O. Huske Lock and Dam No 1 near East Arcadia was reported to be at 20.82 feet at 8:45 a.m. Saturday. Flood stage is 24 feet. The river is forecast to remain at or slightly below flood stage, according to the National Weather Service.
