The Elizabethtown Kiwanis Club lost a dear member, Carl Stewart McCulloch, this year according to it’s club members. McCulloch was a member of the local club for 60 years, Dr. Lisa Bryan, Kiwanis’ Secretary said.
Last week the club Treasurer, William Thompson announced the club received a donation of $1,000 from Mr. Carl’s estate. This will help our club continue to give back to the children of our community Thompson stated.
McCulloch was 92 years old when he died peacefully surrounded by his family in January 2017 according to his obituary. In lieu of flowers to honor McCulloch people were asked to donate to the Elizabethtown Presbyterian Church or the charity of their choice in his obituary.
The Elizabethtown Kiwanis Club has always been grateful for his leadership and membership in their club. McCulloch was a valued citizen in Bladen County and will be dearly missed according to many.
