GREENSBORO – West Bladen rising juniors Carley Dawson and Conner Brisson combined for 5 hits Wednesday morning as their Region 4 team defeated Region 3 8-6 in the Powerade State Softball games at Carolyn Allen Park.

Dawson blasted a 2-run homer and cracked 2 more singles to finish 3-4 at the plate with 2 runs scored and 2 runs batted in.

Brisson hammered a double to rightfield and scored a run then ripped a single to left that drove in a run and later scored. She finished 2-4 at the plate with the double, an rbi and 2 runs scored.

Later Wednesday Region 4 dropped their final game 7-4 to Region 8. Region 4 finished with a 1-3 record in the tournament.

Dawson and Brisson both batted 2-3 in the game against Region 8. Firstbaseman Dawson drilled a single to centerfield then belted a run-scoring single. Brisson played shortstop in the final game and raked a single to left then smacked another single.
Dawson batted 7-13 in the tournament with a home run and 4 runs batted in. Brisson finished 5-12 at the plate with a double and an rbi.
