T. J. Guyton slammed a double to leftfield to lead off the West Bladen first inning and came around to score the Knight’s only run of the game.
Ian Sykes and Jonathan Robinson both walked, and Trey Storms knocked in Guyton with a single. However, a pick-off play ended the inning.
St. Pauls turned a hit batter and 2 errors into two first inning runs and scored 5 more times in the second on 3 errors, 2 walks and a hit to take a 7-1 lead.
The Bulldogs scored a run on 3 hits in the third and added 4 runs on 4 hits in the fourth inning to stretch their lead to 12-1.
Catcher Jalen Drew and Cameron Peterson belted singles in the second inning for West Bladen but were left stranded on base. Drew connected for another single in the fourth inning and batted 2-2 to lead the Knight hitters.
Guyton had the double and scored a run. Storms smacked the rbi single, and Peterson finished with one hit.
The Knights, now 7-3, will play Fairmont at 1 p.m. Thursday in the third-place game.Share:
