The Elizabethtown Town Council will meet tonight (Monday, November 5) at 7 p.m. in the Council Chamber at the Elizabethtown Town Hall. One of the topics to be discussed will be a contract for soil testing for the cemetery and an engineering contract to study the cemetery issues.

The board is expected to approve the minutes from the October 1st Work Session and  October 1st Regular Session.

The town council will hear from Scott Sigmon with W. K. Dickson during the noon work session regarding on going FEMA projects.

The board will be asked to approve a resolution for a water shortage plan and proclamations for Hire A Vet Week and Youth Appreciation Week.   The town council is also expected to designate an applicant’s agent and state-applicant disaster assistance agreement. The town board will also make a declaration of surplus property for a police vehicle.

Under Administrative Matters, the council will consider a contract with WR Martin for an EPA Brownfield Assessment Grant. The board will also consider a bid award for the construction bids for the Phase II Utility Burial Project.

The town council will also consider contracts with GeoTechnologies, Inc. for subsurface testing and with W.K. Dickson and Associates for cemetery alternative proposals.  The town board will also consider approving Change Order No. 5 with Trigon of Whiteville, Inc. for the  Industrial Park Phase I and consider a request for a donation to Bladen’s Bloomin’ Agri-Industrial.

The town board will consider approving an amended agreement with Voice Data Solutions (VDS) and receive the monthly financial report. The board will be asked to approve the tax releases and budget amendment No. 2019-03.

There will also be a closed session for matters of client-attorney privilege.
