The Elizabethtown-White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is inviting members to consider all the future possibilities for the local economy at their Annual Meeting on Thursday, March 10 at Lu Mil Vineyard.
The guest speaker will be Amy Allison, the Director of Outdoor Recreation Industry Office at the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (EDPNC). “Our speaker will discuss the possibilities of using outdoor recreation to stimulate the local economy and how other small, rural areas of North Carolina are seeing that concept pay off,” Chamber Executive Director Terri Dennison said, citing the abundance of public and private recreational assets that exist in Bladen County.
According to Dennison, a lot of strategic planning has happened in the last year at both the county and local levels, including a new set of directions for the Chamber. “We want to share some of the discussion and results with our members, so they can see how it all ties together to benefit everyone,” Dennison said. The Annual Meeting will also include an update from representatives of Elizabethtown, White Lake, and Bladen Economic Development.
The evening will end with the presentation of the 2021 Awards.
Tickets for the Annual Meeting and Awards Program are $25 a person and include a buffet dinner. The events will start with a social at 5:30 pm followed by dinner at 6 pm. Reservation can be made by responding to the mailed invitation or online at www.elizabethtownwhitelake.com/annual-meeting. Reservation should be made by February 23.
